WHY WE DO THIS

Warm homes. A woodland worth fighting for.

Ash dieback is changing the landscape at Leys Farm. Trees that have stood for decades are being lost, and we are determined to give this woodland a future.

We carefully manage affected trees and turn usable timber into firewood. Revenue from sales helps fund the work of looking after the woodland and establishing a more diverse, resilient mix of native trees — including wild service tree, small-leaved lime, alder, crab apple and elm.

1. Responsibly felled

We work through ash affected by dieback as part of the farm’s wider woodland-management plan.

2. Cut, split & dried

The timber is processed on the farm and air-dried, conserving energy while allowing the logs to season naturally.

3. Moisture checked

We check the moisture content of our seasoned logs, aiming for 20% or below before they leave the farm.

Good to know

What does 15kg packed weight mean? The Ash Box is sold by total packed parcel weight, up to 15kg including cardboard and tape. The weight of the logs alone is therefore lower.

Log sizes: As this is real farm timber, individual log lengths and split widths naturally vary.

Is the firewood ready to burn? Our ash is naturally air-dried and moisture checked. We aim for a moisture content of 20% or below.

Is every log ash? The boxes contain predominantly ash. Occasionally, a small amount of another suitable hardwood may be included as part of the same woodland management work.

How does Subscribe & Save work? Choose delivery every 2 weeks, monthly or every 8 weeks. Pay £26.95 when you order and on each renewal for one Ash Box, with delivery included. Cancel before your next renewal if you no longer want a delivery. There is no multi-box upfront payment or fixed-term commitment. Cancel anytime with no minimum term. To cancel, open your secure Stripe customer portal using the email address you ordered with, and cancel before your next payment. Cancellation stops future renewals; an order already paid for will still be delivered.

What’s in The Kindling Box? Approximately 7kg of kindling together with natural firelighters, supplied in a smaller parcel.

Where do you deliver? Delivery to eligible mainland UK addresses is included in the advertised prices. Any postcode restrictions will be shown before payment.

Can I visit Leys Farm? We’re a working farm, rather than a shop, so visits are by arrangement. From time to time we’ll share photographs and news from our woodland restoration work.
